SENASICA, through the DGIAAP, is responsible to coordinate and implement the Shrimp Toxic Residues Monitoring Program. This service is annually coordinated with the Aquaculture Health State Committees and with the Inspections and Surveillance Head Office from the Aquaculture and Fishery National Commission (CONAPESCA), to establish the sampling schedule in the states producers of aquaculture shrimp.
The committees perform the sampling under CONAPESCA supervision through the federal fishery officials that are posted in each of the marked entities; this Head Office is the responsible official authority for the shrimp farm sampling verification and validation procedures. Samples are sent to CENAPA, SENASICA official laboratory in charge of performing the toxic residues analysis.
The Shrimp Toxic Residues Monitoring Program in aquaculture shrimp is designed and implemented as a National Program strategically focused to the aquaculture shrimp producing states.
The number of samples collected per entity, is calculated considering the number of existing farms and the total production volume per entity.
The sampling collection schedule for 2007 will be adjusted according to the stocking records that were presented to CONAPESCA.
