National Consultative Committee of Standardization of Phytosanitary Protection (CONAPROF)
Technical personnel from the General Direction of Vegetal Health; industrial organizations; service suppliers; trade people; livestock, forestry, fishery producers; scientific and technological research centers, professional colleges, and consumers form the CONAPROF
CONAPROF is in charge of approving and performing the procedures for the issuing and amendment of the Mexican Official Norms/Standards in vegetal health matters, this through the coordination of subcommittees responsible of elaborating bills of these norms from the year 1993 up to date.
The Committee headquarters are in the General Direction of Vegetal Health building on Guillermo Perez Valenzuela # 127-2nd floor, Col. del Carmen
For its performance of functions, the CONAPROZ, counts with Operation and Integration Rules.
Based on the Federal Law on Metrology and Standardization, Mexican Official Norms shall be reviewed from their date of enforcement every 5 years or before, this being notified within 60 days after the ending of their respective quinquennial period. Therefore, CONAPROF takes the task of reviewing norms/standards that have been issued, updating them according to scientific and technological advances, and the undertaken phytosanitary campaigns.
The result of this review is notified to the National Commission of Standardization. Not performing this action, the above commission may automatically annul the norm/standard.
