Presentation
With the objective of preventing barriers due to food safety become an obstacle for fruits and vegetables commercialization in the domestic and international markets, the National Service of Agro Alimentary Health, Safety, and Quality (SENASICA), through its General Head Office of Agro Alimentary, Aquaculture and Fishing Safety initiated the Good Agriculture Practices Program.
With this program, national producers and packagers of fruits, vegetables and, recently, of some grains, may establish and apply Contamination Risk Minimizing Programs through the Good Agriculture Practices for field production and packaging in the field, particularly in products for fresh consumption.
In order to implement the Good Practices, the program considers, among other activities, training, promotion, communication, diagnostics, and technical assistance.
Companies participating in the program that be able to show implementation of the Good Agriculture Practices, may obtain an Implementation Certificate issued by SENASICA, which is useful in commercialization of fruits and vegetable products.
